China’s iron ore imports elevated significantly in the first two months of this year

From Jan to Feb 2011, China's iron ore imports amounted to 117.57 million t, rising by 22.6% year over year. While the iron ore import value totaled $18.1 billion, up by 98.9% year over year.

In addition China's iron ore imports came to 48.64 t in Feb, decreasing by 1.5% year over year. Meanwhile during the same period China's imported iron ore price averaged $158.47/t(CIF), raising by 4.66% month on month and by 65.18% year over year.
